An exploratory onsite meeting with two representatives of Hawkesbury City Council was held at the Wilberforce Cemetery on Friday 8 March. Patsy Templeton (on right), Committee Secretary, and Jill and Lester Vincent, two of the Friends of Wilberforce Cemetery, met with Sean Perry (in straw hat), Parks and Recreation, Hawkesbury City Council, and Craig Johnson (in cap), Project Officer, Hawkesbury City Council.
On 22 March a formal application was made to Hawkesbury City Council for approval to undertake the restoration work at the Cemetery. In turn, Council will liaise with the relevant Heritage body.
So far we've had no official response but we're hoping a Council representative will be present at the Committee’s third formal meeting, in Windsor on 16 April.
The Committee has ten members, a workable group size with a good geographic spread and representative Brown (3) and Bushell (2) surnames:
